Windows 10

VLSC is getting monthly updates for Windows 10 media!

If you routinely sign into the VLSC portal at https://www.microsoft.com/vlsc to download Windows 10 media you may have noticed something interesting recently.  Here’s a snapshot of Windows 10 1909 from mid-March:

And here’s another snapshot from today:

Notice the difference?  Windows 10 version 1909 was updated.  And if I would have captured an update during April, I would have seen “updated March 2020.”  That means the media is being updated each month with the latest cumulative update integrated (just like MSDN has done for a while).  At present this is only for the latest feature update, so when Windows 10 version 2004 comes out then the previous ones won’t be updated any more, but that’s still a big improvement.

  1. Great addition!
If the Feature Updates within SCCM over WSUS would integrate the monthly updates as well it would solve us so many problems and time until windows is updated after an Feature Update:)

  2. Many of our customers are moving from their old Enterprise Agreements and just getting Microsoft 365 E3/E5 licenses. This means they no don’t have access to neither VLSC nor MSDN. Are there any options available for them to download various versions? Or is the only available version the one at https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10 which I usually point them to.
